Those who observe halloween among Filipino basketball fans thought that it’s a great treat that the biggest basketball charity game in the country is happening at the SMART Araneta Coliseum with the Gilas Pilipinas playing with the elite group of NBA basketball superstars. However, what actually took place has turned out to be a live practice with drills featuring both teams.
The change of plan and the cancellation of the second day event was further explained by the events organizer and Media provider in a press conference. According the event organizer, the supposed actual games were cancelled, because NBA guests thought that they would be sanctioned and fined if they ended up playing due a regulation issue on their contracts, which doesn't allow NBA players to play in non-sanctioned NBA events.
Anyway, there is always next time. People can only hope that this will not be the last basketball event that they will see, which are featuring NBA players competing in our country.
The occasion when a man and a woman got engaged romantically is celebrated by a few couples. This is for the reason that we are not just giving importance to our wedding anniversary but also giving importance to the day when one meets a husband or wife for the first time. Although we are not like those who are celebrating their weeks and month anniversaries, my wife and I are giving importance to the special days of our relationship. If only it is not asking much, I would love to receive another again ring like from joyjewelers.com.
Last week, we brought our son to a music store where we bought him a guitar. During the negotiation with the store clerk, we noticed that he started to play the drums that were displayed in the store. That made us doubt whether we should buy him a guitar or a drum set. If only it is not expensive, and if only we have a sound proof room in our house, he might have his drum sets by now. It is like using a b1800x from guitar center and not conducive in the place surrounded by neighbors. Maybe next time.
French guitarist Nguyên Lê and German jazz vocalist Michael Schiefel, together with Spanish jazz percussionist Tino di Geraldo and Italian double bass player Furio di Castri of the European Jazz player Performers and our very own and Asia’s most prominent and gifted saxophonist, Tots Tolentino performed for free in a jazz concert last Saturday in Maestranza Plaza, Intramuros Manila. The very first 2014 Euro-Pinoy Jazz Concerts” is presented by the European Union National Institutes for Culture (EUNIC) Philippines and the Delegation of the EU to the Philippines.
Jazz music completes my day, especially when it is played live by those prominent jazz artists. They are not just ordinary performers with affordable ultrasound amps in some hotels and bars. Hopefully this event will have a repeat since this is the first time and we are waiting for another one next year.
My husband loves animals. He tells me that he has lots of pets way back when he was still in his single years. But since we don’t have space for them anymore, he stopped having pets. But my son would love to have some pets also. He loves fishes, birds and as a matter of fact, he also loves dog. I could see how much he has been taking good care of our neighbour’s dogs. Hopefully we can get him some pets that he can call his own, too. We will just have sportingdogpro.com bark collars to avoid dog barks that can disturb our neighbours.
It is good to know that not just my son who love to play guitar but also my niece. At their early age, hopefully we can find best beginners of guitar players out of them. Although if we will be given a chance, we love to buy them Yamaha Acoustic Guitars at musicians friend at musicians friend, but according to the guitar school that we have inquired from, beginner guitars still fit them especially the young standard guitar learners.
A Filipina migrant worker Rose “Osang” Fostanes won the first season of X factor Israel. The 47-year old Filipina who has been working as caregiver in Israel for six year sang the most notorious song for us Filipinos. This song is “My Way’ by Frank Sinatra in her final performance. Some might say it is a bad omen that ‘My Way’ song for us Filipinos means the one singing is finished. It is not the microphone

although votes are important in this reality show, but the real singing talent of Osang is due to the many years of her singing in some song amateur contests and karaoke in the country that made her what she is now.
The world was done preparing for the past parties and new year celebration. Now they are back to the reality of life. A lot of work has been back to normal, too. I am sure some of you set new goals for yourself, maybe remember those wasted things you have done last year and want to change it for the better this year. Formulate the best strategies and implement them this year. Let us not wait for the next year for improvement to happen.
My husband always wants to have our vacation or rest house somewhere away from the polluted and noisy Metro areas. It would be great How to stay in a log cabin vacation house with trees, ponds or lake, meadows surrounded by forest that provides privacy and peacefulness in a stunning natural surrounding. Maybe we will just install some cctv or Scouting Camera around it for protection and safety. As long as there is a cable tv and internet connection, we can survive.
It is sad to observe that most appliances of today get easily damaged. That's why it is better to buy those expensive but high quality appliances than to regret buying cheap but fleeting one. Last timee, we have some appliances that needed to be fix and even spent a lot for them, since some are newly purchased but just needing some minor repair and can still be used again. Although we saw to it first if we could fix it on our own, and if it will be irreparable, that’s the time we will bring it to someone expert. It's helpful if you know someone who can do a little repair like changing these machine handles, small part replacement among others. Make sure that you know someone who will not take advantage of you.
We are grateful for all the blessings we have received but still we are praying to buy our son guitar for beginners as he really wants to learn how to play guitar. Although we love to see him playing violin, as long as he wants something we will support him. As a matter of fact, we are searching for a school where he can attend violin or guitar class. Hopefully with prayers we will really be led to the best class for our son.
Although the beer month has started last September, we still hear some of our neighbors playing loud Christmas songs early in the morning. Although we are not celebrating it, we understand them. But we notice lately that they are not just playing Christmas song but someone is also singing in karaoke early in the morning. The sad thing is that some are singing like great trumpet mute at musicians friend. Luckily, we don’t use the room on the back side of our house, We wonder if some of our neighbors whose rooms are really close to the house worry about this Karaoke early in the morning.
With what happened to our country after the earthquake in Bohol and the super typhoon which has left many people dead and homeless, we could all see lots of foreign countries are really helping us. They have been providing services and answering the needs of our fellow Filipinos affected by the calamities. Private individuals, non-government organization and celebrities are also doing their very best how to help. It is frustrating that there are still some who are taking advantage of the situation. They seem like they have high temperature epoxy on their faces, such that they can still manage to do those acts. Hopefully, with prayers our country especially those who are affected can rise and start again.
We know that Filipinos are always there and united if someone is in need. The Island of Bohol and thousands of people living there were heavily affected by the 7.2-magnitude earthquake that hit the island last October 15, 2013. That’s why celebrities whose families are from Bohol are now having fund raising activities to help victims of the said calamity. Concerts using and other forms of fundraising are organized. We would love to see bands perform using footswitch for fender at guitar center while helping.
It is heartwarming to learn that my son was chosen to run as representative of his school for a school activity. I did not expect that a primary student such as he would have a schedule as busy as an adult. Hopefully he will cope with his tasks. I remember that during our time, busy school activities would happen in middle school. Poster, banners, bookmarks even we have to use High school letterman patches for our group for the activities. On a brighter note, I’m sure this will help him develop his time management and priority skills.
With all the rumors of wars in Syria and scandals that are implied from the multi– billion worth of pork barrel among some law makers, I’m thinking it is probably time to take a break from news of chaos. It would be good to prepare for the upcoming and most awaited feast of the year. The feast of tabernacles is celebrated every year where our brethren in Yahweh’s assembly and Sacred Name believers are gathered in a designated place to celebrate this joyous feast for seven days. We can cook and do our daily routine in a temporary shelter or place. We gather together, eat together and worship together. I am hoping to taste more food on the table with this year. We always enjoy the fresh food with no need for the maxforce roach bait anymore since we always finish them. Likewise, we are anticipating spiritual nourishment from the messages and lessons we will receive during this religious event.
It has been two days that we have been working home since our employer has allowed usnot to report to the office anymore because of the heavy raining which causes flooding in some areas of the metropolis. Tomorrow is a non-working holiday, although it seems like a long holiday. I am still stuck with some deadlines and because of that, I don’t even have time to play my lee oskar harmonicas. With this inclement weather, it’s amazing that some clients are still calling for deadlines.
It has been our plan to start a travel blog so that we could write about our experiences during our travel. This will include trips to resorts, hotels, and our beautiful tourist places I have been to locally or within the country. I would like to share how to get there, accommodation, service and things that each place needs to improve. This site will include food travel also, that will highlight restaurants and their menus, local delicacies and specialties. Hopefully, we can include our and future travel outside the country. Travel tips like paris luxury apartments for rent and cheap accommodations too.
It is been a while that we have not got a chance to travel outside the country again. That’s why we did not notice that our passport was already expired. Luckily, the Department of Foreign Affairs set up some satellite offices in some malls for the renewal of passport services. Unlike before when you would need to line up in regional or in DFA main offices. Although some travel agencies offer help like speedy renewal. They also offer the services that you will see in passports.com.
How I wish we can have another break or a long holiday. We been very busy for the last couple of months that we didn’t even enjoy some of the previous holidays we could have. Hope that we could find time to have at least have a break and relax. I long for our out of town vacation and stay away from home overnight just to have at least a break from the busy and noisy life in the metro. I could not even find time for a relaxation with my friend. Even he didn’t get to use his yoga accessories anymore. Toxic schedule and deadlines in the office really consumed our time..
