We hate any new increase of taxes but if this tax will benefit many people, then who are we to oppose? With the new sin tax bill, the government gets its share of the revenues from cigarettes and beverages. The bill has already been approved in the bicameral committee and only the signature of the president is needed so that it will come into law. Aside from that, it can add funds for public health services and subsidies to workers in the affected tobacco and alcohol industries. It will also lessen related diseases caused by smoking and drinking. I am sure those who buy rocky patel cigars and other beverages will be minimized and hopefully many will stop their vices.
Many are in the party mode especially this month of December. Companies are celebrating anniversaries and thanksgiving parties during this month. Loud music and happy events are all over the place. I wonder if there are sill companies or individuals hiring bands during these days? I remember a family member who was a member of a band before. He would even prepare extra loop pedal at Musician's Friend because they have scheduled gigs almost every night. But today, I am sure Gang Nam style will always be present in today’s parties.
