A professor in Finance once said to me that there are three (3) types of attitudes about risk. One is a risk taker. This is the type of person who plunges into futures trading which is the most volatile type of investment, for example, and certainly not for the faint hearted. The second type is the risk averse or those who avoid surprises and prefer predictable outcomes. The third type is a mixture of both. This refers to a person who takes calculated risk. From a business standpoint, the higher the risk, the higher the return. So, which one are you and how much risk can you take?
